Onder de voet zit een gesegmenteerde zool met Abzorb in hiel en voorvoet en een Stability Web in de middenvoet. Dat voelt zeker en ondersteunend wanneer je veel loopt of staat, al is de afwikkeling iets minder soepel dan bij een volledig flexibele sneaker. Het bovenwerk combineert mesh met synthetische panelen, op sommige colorways aangevuld met suède of ripstop; als detail duikt geregeld een externe vetersluiting met nylon oogjes op. De 1000 komt voor dames, heren en kinderen en verschijnt geregeld in de uitverkoop. Bekende kleuren lopen van blauw tot roze, met rustige branding die de vorm laat spreken. New Balance is een merk uit de Verenigde Staten, dat functionele sportgevoel proef je hier. Valt hij in de smaak, dan is het slim om bij een aanbieding toe te slaan.
